Job summary

The Worcester Housing Authority seeks a dedicated Lead Academic Teacher to supervise the after-school Futures Academy for up to 20 children in the Great Brook Valley/Curtis Apartments. You will support homework, foster independence, and deliver enrichment activities, collaborating with the Program Coordinator to plan goals and measure progress.

This part-time, non-benefited seasonal role runs Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Able to pass background checks.
• Fluent in English; Spanish a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the after-school Learning Center.
• Direct and support teachers and tutors as assigned.
• Develop reading and math skills using IXL and track progress.
• Plan enrichment programs in collaboration with the team.
• Open/close Futures Academy and maintain a safe, organized space.
• Collaborate with schools to support student progress.
