The City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program seeks a full-time member to build capacity in education, health, environmental quality, and homeless services within Austin neighborhoods.

You will develop sustained outreach and partnerships that address poverty-related barriers through the Technology Programs.

Qualifications

• Must be a college graduate.
• Experience with outreach and recruitment is helpful.
• Ability to contribute to fundraising and resource development strategies.

Job description

The City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program works with City departments and local nonprofits to build capacity, in order to provide resources and services to the Austin neighborhoods and communities that may otherwise be left behind by Austin's historic disparities and future growth. The AmeriCorps members serving with the City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program work in such diverse fields as education, health, environmental quality, and homeless services to cover the myriad ways poverty affects these neighborhoods and communities.

Member Duties :

Develop a year-round recruitment and outreach strategy that targets schools, community organizations, families, and referral partners. Develop funding and resource-development strategies to support the long-term continuation and expansion of the Technology Programs. Develop a formal sustainability and transition plan for the Technology Programs to continue after the AmeriCorps VISTA project concludes.
