Job summary

APCO is hiring rising seniors and recent graduates to join our full-time, paid internship program in New York or Washington, D.C. You will gain on-the-job training in client service within the Office of the Executive Chairman, contributing to global proposals, client support, and thought leadership content.

The internship emphasizes Africa-focused research, cross-regional collaboration, and developing proposals that showcase APCO's global capabilities.

Qualifications

• Recent college graduate or senior in class standing.
• Experience with Africa-focused policy, market, or regional work preferred.
• Entrepreneurial, fast-paced, detail-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated interest in international affairs.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to balance multiple tasks.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Requires US work authorization; CPT/OPT status not eligible.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on political, economic, and policy developments across Africa.
• Draft and refine memos, presentations, and thought-leadership materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on regional projects linking US and international perspectives.
• Assist in developing client proposals with research, drafting, and narrative structuring.
• Identify and compile lists of media contacts.
• Edit and proofread client deliverables.
