Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an AFP Operator I–Senior to build large carbon fiber structures using the AFP machine, based in Middle River, MD. You will set up, calibrate, and operate equipment, ensure quality, and collaborate with engineering teams to refine processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.
• Basic math skills including decimals and conversions.
• Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, maintain, and operate the AFP machine for large carbon fiber structures.
• Clean and maintain AFP machine parts and subassemblies.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Programming teams for process improvements.
• Load/unload tooling and molds from the AFP machine.
• Document stoppages and follow SOPs and work instructions.
