Job summary

Varaha is seeking a Carbon Methodology Specialist (AFOLU) to lead the technical development and registration of agricultural carbon projects under Verra, Gold Standard, and Isometric. You will translate field data into audit-ready documentation, author PDDs and Monitoring Reports, and serve as the primary PDD-level interface with VVBs.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–4 years in voluntary carbon markets with ownership of at least one PDD through registration.
• Deep knowledge of Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, or Isometric methodologies and validation/verification processes.
• Hands-on AFOLU experience with rice methane (VM0051), soil carbon (VM0042), or ARR (VM0047); direct VVB experience required.
• Strong English technical writing to produce audit-ready documents with minimal rework.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end authorship of PDDs and Monitoring Reports under listed methodologies.
• Ensure accurate baseline, additionality, leakage, and ex-ante/ex-post quantification integration.
• Engage VVBs on CARs/CLs/FARs and draft responses that close audit findings.
• Perform methodology applicability reviews and carbon feasibility assessments for new geographies and practices.
• Coordinate with Project, Science, and Technology teams to ensure field protocols meet requirements.
• Monitor registry rule changes and Article 6.2/6.4 developments impacting the project pipeline.
