Job description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of apartment homes, buildings, and grounds, performing duties such as repairing flooring, drywall, appliances, troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, safety, security systems, HVAC, painting, and cleaning. All duties must be carried out in accordance with company policies and safety protocols, supporting the overall goal of meeting client expectations within the operating budget.

  • Driving a site-owned golf cart is required; a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver's License is necessary.

Pay: $19/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relations: Implement owner policies and ensure client satisfaction.
  2. General Maintenance: Follow maintenance and safety programs, maintain property aesthetics, and assist with inspections.
  3. On-call/After Hours: Provide emergency maintenance services during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  4. Unit Turnover: Inspect and repair vacant units, coordinate painting, and appliance changes to ensure timely turnovers.
  5. Equipment and Systems Maintenance: Repair community-owned equipment, maintain orderly shops, secure parts, and wear proper uniform and tools.
  6. Inspections: Prepare properties for various regulatory inspections, including NSPIRE, MOR, TCAC, CALFHA, and collaborate with stakeholders.
  7. Other Duties: Enforce community rules, comply with Fair Housing Laws, maintain professional communication, and adhere to dress code policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role or related fields like hotel or facilities maintenance.
  • Experience with regulatory inspections and compliance standards.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical or CAMT certification preferred.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and pass medical fitness assessments.
  • Proficiency in English and basic computer skills; may need to supply own tools.
