Job summary

RTX's Strategy & Technology Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Affordability Section Lead, Senior Manager to guide the affordability discipline across programs and ensure lifecycle cost optimization while preserving mission performance.

You will develop discipline strategy, oversee complex cost models, lead cost reduction initiatives, and partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to embed cost awareness in design and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with systems engineering methodologies in design, production, and sustainment.
• Experience in cost modeling, lifecycle cost analysis, and affordability methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Affordability organization, including leads and staff.
• Develop and implement Affordability strategy, capability plans, and long-term goals.
• Ensure consistent execution of Affordability activities across programs.
• Oversee development and review of complex cost models and lifecycle analyses.
• Identify, quantify, and execute Cost Reduction Initiatives and CROs.
• Represent Affordability in design reviews, customer engagements, and proposals.
• Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to embed cost considerations.
• Lead workforce planning and mentoring across the Affordability discipline.
