Job summary

Decision Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Radar Engineer to serve as a subject-matter expert for Navy surveillance radar systems and provide lifecycle support, testing, and documentation.

The role involves development, fielding, and troubleshooting support, including shipboard and fleet CASREPs. Qualified candidates will have a BS in engineering or STEM, experience with radar data analysis, documentation, and tools like MATLAB, Python, DOORS, and Rhapsody.

Responsibilities

We seek qualified AESA Radar Technicians to join our team, with the option to work in Virginia Beach, VA ., Port Hueneme, CA., or Pascagoula, MS.

YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE
Position Description:

The candidate will perform as the SME for Navy surveillance radar systems in support of the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA). Focus will be development, testing, fielding and life-cycle technical support for radar systems. Will provide assistance to ship’s force in accomplishment of maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of various radar systems. Will document results of maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution actions and provide distance support and/or shipboard troubleshooting for fleet CASREPs and requests for technical assistance. In addition, the candidate will perform the following functions in support of the Surveillance Radar ISEA:

  • Engineering efforts related to design, testing and analysis of radar upgrades or modifications
  • Provide distance technical support or On-Board Technical Assistance (OBTA) troubleshooting and repair of deployed radar systems
  • Support technical documentation modifications required as a result of fleet feedback or system improvements
  • Assist in the development of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Ship Alteration Records (SAR), which reflect system installation plans and configurations
  • Prepare lab and classrooms spaces to support radar schoolhouse or land-based testing activities
  • Act as liaison with Regional Maintenance Centers to ensure proper processing of installation data and schedule requirements necessary for the unimpeded check-in processing of Alteration Installation Teams (AITs)
  • Perform post-installation System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) and On-the-Job Training (OJT)
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mathematics, or STEM area
  • Practical experience in performing engineering design, test and evaluation, and supportability analysis of radar data for Navy radar systems and/or developing analysis tools
  • Practical experience in design requirements, technical documentation development, fielding, and testing of systems
  • Experience in test and evaluation and data analysis
  • Experience with the development of technical documentation, technical reports, and documenting engineering activities.
  • Working knowledge of Change Requests & Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Familiarity with Reliability Engineering, Supply Support, Manning, Training, Configuration Management, and Test Equipment
  • High-quality interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Personal computer skills (competent with MS Office applications
Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • Familiarity with the use of MATLAB for system modeling. Experience with Python, and/or similar programming languages
  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, or other digital engineering tools
  • Familiarity with US Navy radar installation processes
  • Familiarity with US Navy underway operations
Travel Requirements:
  • 25%-30% travel for shipboard and land-based test and evaluation and technical assistance

88,000 - 102,000 USD per year (NSWC PH VB Det)
