Toyon Research Corporation is an industry leader in the areas of complex space and missile systems analysis, aerothermodynamics, payload design and development, and ground and flight testing. Our Aerospace Systems Group provides innovative technical solutions to support aerospace programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and their agencies. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to join a team for the design, fabrication, and fielding of aerospace vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thermal, aerothermal, structural, and related analysis in support of flight vehicle development
• Generate comprehensive technical briefings and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate and oversee manufacturing activities
• Organize/Orchestrate activities in support of hypersonic testing activities

Requirements

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience; or M.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in design, analysis, and assembly of high-tolerance aerospace hardware
• A strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and the application of mathematical principles in the fields of mechanics of materials, structural, fluid mechanics, and engineering mechanics.
• Computer-aided software experience with Solidworks and Creo
• Experience using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) or hypersonic flowfield tools
• 10-25% travel

The annual pay range for the Aerothermodynamics Engineer position is $115,000 to $185,000.

The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
