Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Solution-Level Systems Engineer to support the PEO Missiles and Space, Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

Provide systems engineering support to the IFMC Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office, focusing on the development of system-level concepts addressing complex integration problems involving multiple systems across multiple product offices.
Develop and document system-level concepts that define external interfaces, system behaviors, performance, and acceptance criteria to support hardware and software engineering teams.
Lead concept reviews, adjudicate stakeholder comments, and ensure concepts are technically sound and aligned with program goals.
Employ Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies using tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw to define, refine, and communicate system-level solutions in an Agile development environment.
Engage with contractors, government civilians, and system operators to ensure proposed solutions meet stakeholder and operational needs.
Support Agile workflows by collaborating in a team-oriented environment and contributing to iterative development cycles.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 7 years of systems engineering experience.
Experience in one or more of the following: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirement decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, contribute in a small team environment, and collaborate effectively across diverse technical and stakeholder groups.
Must be comfortable working in an Agile development environment.
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

Systems engineering experience in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs, particularly in Army Air and Missile Defense.
Hands-on experience with MBSE modeling tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF frameworks.
Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
Familiarity with SAFe Agile principles and practices.
