Job summary

Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. (CME) is seeking a skilled Cable & Wire Harness Production Assembler to fabricate, assemble, terminate, and inspect electrical harnesses for aerospace and defense programs.

The role follows engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and quality standards. Responsibilities include reading drawings, cutting and terminating wires, crimping and soldering, installing connectors and labels, testing continuity, and ensuring compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to distinguish color-coded wiring.
  • Ability to perform detailed assembly work using hand tools and production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently following training and effectively as part of a manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow engineering drawings and production documentation.
  • Measure, cut, strip, route, and terminate electrical wire and cable.
  • Perform crimping, soldering, splicing, pinning, connector assembly, and related harness operations.
  • Install terminals, contacts, connectors, backshells, sleeving, heat-shrink, shielding, labels, and related hardware.
  • Route, bundle, lace, tie, and secure cable and wire harness assemblies.
  • Use wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, insertion/extraction tools, heat guns, torque tools, and other production equipment.
  • Perform continuity, point-to-point, and other required basic electrical testing.
  • Inspect completed work for proper assembly, dimensions, termination, labeling, and workmanship.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials, workmanship defects, and drawing or production discrepancies.
  • Complete required production, inspection, and traceability documentation.
  • Follow applicable ESD, FOD, safety, quality, and material-handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform other related production duties as assigned.
