Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Welding Engineer (All Levels) to develop, qualify, and optimize welding designs and processes across laser beam, TIG, friction stir, and orbital tube welding. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing to enforce standardized practices on complex welded assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• 2+ years of hands-on fabrication, manufacturing, or testing experience of welded assemblies is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and qualify weld processes and parameters for multiple welding processes including laser beam welding, friction stir welding, gas tungsten arc welding, orbital tube welding.
• Work closely with design, tooling, automation, and development engineers to improve welded designs for manufacturing.
• Develop and implement improved process control using test and NDE results as feedback loop.
• Support production operations on full-scale welded assemblies, guiding manufacturing engineers and welders.
• Scope out new welding technologies to improve rate, quality, and efficiency.
