Job summary

Sidus Space in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a full-time welder to join our manufacturing team. You will perform welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and steel parts to tight tolerances using MIG and TIG processes in a production setting onsite.

The role requires reading drawings, preparing and tacking welds, and monitoring weld quality while maintaining equipment and the work area. A high school diploma or equivalent and an apprenticeship or 2 years welding experience are expected, with AWS

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR at least two (2) years’ welding experience.
• MIG and TIG welding experience in a production environment preferred.
• Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
