Job summary

PPG Industries in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Aerospace Transparencies Facilities Engineer to support two manufacturing facilities. You will manage facility operations, oversee multiple projects, coordinate with production, and ensure safety and efficiency across utilities and systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience, with willingness to travel between two Huntsville sites and occasional weekend/evening work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of work experience or project experience related to upkeep of a factory/facility preferred.
• Prior leadership experience helpful, but not required.
• Must be willing to travel regularly between two facilities in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility status from basement to roof, including air handling units and utilities.
• Maintain facility operations and ensure vital support equipment functions.
• Support EHS programs such as life critical rules across the facility.
• Manage maintenance contracts with vendors and ensure work is safe, on time, and accurate.
• Coordinate with production and other stakeholders for project scheduling and fulfillment.
• Collaborate with maintenance to complete tasks.
• Suggest improvements for energy savings and equipment uptime.
• Manage budgets for facility projects and department spending.

As the Aerospace Transparencies Facilities Engineer you will support our two manufacturing facilities in Huntsville, AL. You support the regular upkeep and improvements, including planning, organizing, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.

You will work on-site at our Huntsville, AL facility and report to the Strategic Planning Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the status of the facility from the basement to the roof including air handling units, water systems, air and vacuum systems, and more.
• Maintain facility operations and ensure vital support equipment is functioning properly.
• Support EHS programs such as life critical rules throughout the facility.
• Manage all maintenance contracts with vendors, and assure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
• Coordinate with production and other stakeholders regarding project scheduling and fulfillment.
• Collaborate with maintenance to accomplish tasks.
• Suggest areas for improving facilities operations with a focus on energy savings and equipment uptime.
• Manage budget for facility projects and spending for the facilities department.
