Job summary

Castelion Corporation in Torrance, CA, seeks a Staff Toolmaker / Laser Tracker Operator to run laser tracking and precision tooling for large aerospace structures, blending hands-on measurement with clear process ownership. You will master Verisurf (or MB software) and laser trackers (Leica, Faro, API), translate measurement data into actionable directives for fabrication, machining, and assembly teams.

Travel between sites as needed, ensure safety and aerospace quality, and lead build

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in toolmaking, laser tracking, or aerospace manufacturing.
• Advanced proficiency in Verisurf inspection software, including model manipulation and reporting.
• Deep hands-on experience with laser trackers (Leica, Faro, API) and related hardware.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and ability to apply it to complex aerospace structures.
• Proven track record leading complex builds from blueprint to final installation.
• Willingness to travel between sites as needed, and to work across multiple facilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical experience accepted in lieu of higher education.

Responsibilities

• Run laser tracking operations, Verisurf licensing, tracker scheduling, remote site support, and cross-facility coordination.
• Collect geometric data using laser trackers and establish/reference systems on parts and assemblies.
• Apply advanced GD&T to interpret blueprints and define datum and alignment strategies.
• Analyze data and provide direction for tooling, welding, machining, and assembly activities.
• Lead complex build efforts from blueprint through installation, including drilling, dowelling, epoxy pours, and rigging.
• Ensure safety and aerospace quality standards in all operations; drive continuous improvement.
