Job summary

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a technical or trade school pursuing a diploma, certificate, or associate degree.
• Progressing through a two-year program focused on machining, welding, manufacturing tech, or aerospace.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Tooling Technicians with fabrication, assembly, modification, and repair of production tools, jigs, fixtures, and tooling equipment.
• Perform basic machining, welding, grinding, polishing, and fabrication tasks under supervision following safety procedures.
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance, including inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and documenting work.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete tasks.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, tolerances, and quality.
• Support production technicians by troubleshooting tooling-related issues and resolving manufacturing concerns.
• Participate in tooling design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and maintainability.
• Lead or contribute to defined projects focused on tooling improvements, safety, cost reduction, or efficiency.
• Assist with root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and development of tooling maintenance documentation.
• Present project work and improvement recommendations to leadership at the end of the internship.
