Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineer II Tool Design Engineer in Poway, CA, to lead and support the full lifecycle of aerospace tooling, fixtures, and prototypes. You will work across design, manufacturing, and testing, collaborating with technicians and leadership to assure quality and reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, advanced CAD modeling, tool design, and additive manufacturing processes in a dynamic small-business environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD modeling with Creo; SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Experience designing tools for manufacturing, such as jigs and fixtures used on the shop floor.
• Hands-on prototype builds, testing, iteration, and collaboration with technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, manufacturing, and testing of composite and metallic aerospace structures.
• Design production tooling, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with shop-floor teams to support first builds and troubleshooting.
