Job summary

Hytek Finishes is hiring a Titanium Cadmium Assistant for the 2nd shift at our Kent, WA facility. The role involves preparing parts for plating in the Titanium Cadmium department, complying with FAA DOT testing as required, and adhering to Military, Industry, and OEM specs.

Essential duties include following process cards, handling customer orders, and ensuring quality through operator self-verification. A pre-employment drug test may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Ability to read/write communicate in English with other employees, customers, and auditors.
  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with experienced Plating Operators to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery.
  • Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Plating Operators.
  • Prepare parts prior to operations; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable.
  • Legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred.
  • General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed.
  • Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
  • Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Be familiar with safety precautions & know how to avoid injury to personnel.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service.

Location: Kent, WA - onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: 2nd Shift; Training on 1st Shift

Salary Range for position: $21.80 - $30.80. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Position Summary

This position is responsible for using a variety of methods to prepare parts for plating through the Titanium Cadmium department. Titanium Cadmium Assistants may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Titanium Cadmium Assistants perform operations in accordance with Military, Industry and OEM specifications.

FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE based upon requirements in working area.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.
Education & Experience
  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Essential Mental/Physical Demands
  • Lift: floor to waist - up to 119 lbs occasionally; floor to overhead - up to 31 lbs occasionally.
  • Carry up to 55 lbs occasionally; push/pull up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Stand and walk frequently; sit occasionally.
  • Reach overhead and from knee to floor occasionally; reach from shoulder to waist frequently.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl occasionally.
  • Climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
  • Grasp frequently; pivot and pinch occasionally.
  • Ability to see, hear, and feel constantly.
Work Environment
  • Hearing protection required in certain areas.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Temperature fluctuations based on outdoor conditions.
  • PPE required: safety glasses/goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, respirator (provided by company).
