Job summary

Safran Seats USA in Texas is seeking a TIG/Heliarc Welder A to join our production team. The role focuses on assembling and repairing aerospace seating components, performing TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steels, and ensuring weld quality on bench or shop floor.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of welding experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to interpret complex drawings and WPS standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience required.
• Completion of formal welding training is a plus.
• Highly skilled in TIG welding and precision measuring instruments.
• Must read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding operations on aluminum, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade metals on complex welds.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, weld symbols and route sheets.
• Set up and use fixtures accurately to ensure quality welds and part integrity.
• Apply proper welding rod selection using established color code systems.
• Follow WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) standards and qualify for MVP and Operator Certifications.
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scales to inspect and verify parts.
• Rework and repair welded parts to required specifications.
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and standard shop practices.
• Document work performed and ensure traceability of parts and welds.
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient welding area, utilizing 5s Standards and established storage requirements.
• May be assigned other duties as required.
