Job summary

TalenTier is seeking a Thermal Spray Process Engineer in Windsor, CT to support the repair and overhaul of critical gas turbine components. You will develop, optimize, and sustain thermal spray coating processes, including surface prep, masking, and robotic programming, to improve quality and efficiency.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, process control, and collaboration with production, quality, and maintenance teams. Occasional travel and on-site work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science (Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics).
• 3+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing; aerospace MRO or gas turbine preferred.
• Experience with process development, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and statistical problem solving.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize thermal spray coating processes for aerospace gas turbine components.
• Support production daily: monitor yield, reduce rework, improve process capability.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure thermal spray equipment and processes are ready for production.
• Design tooling, fixtures, gauging, and process improvements for safety and efficiency.
• Program and optimize 6-axis robotic systems used in thermal spray.
• Develop spray parameters for new coatings and improve existing processes.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, specs, calibration instructions, and training materials.
• Train operators and coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance.
