Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Miramar, FL is seeking an onsite technician to work in a repair and overhaul shop, performing assembly, testing, painting, and inspection of aircraft components. This role requires standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and strict adherence to FAA/EASA/CAAC data and safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate will hold a HS diploma (or equivalent) and ideally an FAA A&P certificate or be pursuing it. Prior experience with test equipment, manuals, and 5S practices is valued.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical documents/Component Maintenance Manual per FAR 145.155(b), 65.71(a)(2).
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification (completed or actively pursuing) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manual handling and maneuvering of large fuel aircraft components.
• Maintain organization and identification of components in progress.
• Comply with FAA/EASA/CAAC technical data as applicable.
• Perform painting functions including primer mixing and application.
• Maintain clean, safe work area following 5S principles.
• Identify non-value-added steps to reduce waste and improve processes.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous process improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment per FAA guidelines.
• Operate in a repair and overhaul shop setting.
• Manage test logs and reports in test cell.
• Follow regulatory requirements for hazardous waste handling.
• Routinely lift up to 25 pounds.
