Job summary

Acron Aviation is offering a Test Engineer Intern position in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This full-time onsite internship runs May through August, giving hands-on experience in automated test software, data analysis, and aerospace testing environments.

You will work with experienced engineers across hardware, software, and systems, supporting product quality, reliability, and test system performance while learning safety-critical aerospace technologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
• Must be enrolled and returning to school after the internship.
• Basic programming experience from coursework or prior internships.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with guidance as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• U.S. export control eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of automated test software.
• Assist with test execution, data collection, and analysis.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and test equipment issues.
• Support software verification and validation activities.
• Assist with integration, setup, and testing of automated test stations.
• Create and update technical documentation and test procedures.
• Contribute to root cause investigations and continuous improvement.
• Improve automated test equipment reliability and reduce test time.
• Analyze test results and communicate findings to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects.
• Adhere to aerospace quality standards and safety requirements.
