Job summary

Safran Seats in Gainesville, Texas, is seeking a Technical Writer 1 to craft and maintain documentation for aerospace components. You will produce docs from engineering drawings and collaborate with Engineering/Manufacturing to ensure accuracy.

The role requires knowledge of blueprints, strong written communication, and familiarity with ATA 2200. Proficiency with Arbortext/Framemaker/IsoDraw/Corel is a plus; relocation is not indicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English or technical discipline (6+ years in related field) recommended.
• Minimum two years' experience in technical writing.
• Working knowledge of blueprints.
• Knowledge of Safran Seats USA products preferred.
• Understanding of ATA Spec 2200 preferred.
• Proficiency in Arbortext or Framemaker or IsoDraw/Corel.

Responsibilities

• Creates technical documentation based on engineering drawings.
• Corresponds with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure correctness of technical documentation.
• Revises and maintains technical documentation based on engineering drawings and previous documentation.
• Creates and completes Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) updates and revisions as required.
• Creates and completes Service Bulletin/Service Information (SB/SIL) as required.
• Work within tight schedules to complete documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
