Job summary

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a Systems Reliability Engineer to mature reliability processes for a complex aerospace and defense hardware system. You will manage reliability models, FMEA/FMECA, FRACAS, and hazard analyses in collaboration with design, test, and manufacturing teams.

You will work to ensure data traceability, support design changes, and provide robust reliability analyses for technical reviews and customer deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in reliability, systems, mechanical, electrical, aerospace or related field.
• Three+ years of reliability engineering or related activity.
• Experience with quantitative reliability prediction models.
• Experience with FMEA, FMECA, fault-tree analyses.
• Ability to work with reliability data, configurations, and assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and mature the system reliability prediction model using Windchill.
• Maintain consistency between the reliability model and system configuration.
• Update reliability predictions as designs mature and data becomes available.
• Develop and maintain reliability allocations and predictions at multiple levels.
• Evaluate predicted reliability against requirements and identify drivers.
• Collaborate with design teams to obtain data and operating assumptions.
• Develop and maintain system‑level FMEA and FMECA analyses.
• Coordinate failure‑mode information with engineering groups.
• Maintain failure severity, criticality, and related analytical data.
• Develop reliability fault‑tree analyses where appropriate.
• Analyze test and production failure information for trends and risks.
• Support the FRACAS process and document corrective actions.
• Provide reliability inputs to System Safety owner for hazard analyses.
• Trace reliability predictions to technical baselines and criteria.
