Job summary

Saab Aeronautics Indiana LLC in West Lafayette, IN seeks skilled Installation Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk program.

You will assemble aircraft structures, train new team members, and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system with on-site training through our aerospace installation academy. Candidates should have 2+ years in mechanical assembly, a high school diploma, and a technical aviation-related certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience
• High school degree or equivalent required
• Technical degree or certification in aviation assembly, mechanics, or aircraft maintenance is a plus
• Experience in delivering high levels of quality in compliance with ISO/AS9100 standards is a plus
• Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in written and digital format is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and systems according to procedures
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale
• Operate powered hand-tools and execute precision assembly
• Sign off on completed work per specifications and review others' work
