Job summary

RTX in Richardson, TX offers an aerospace internship/co‑op role to develop advanced communications solutions for military platforms. You will be part of a cross‑functional agile team with mentorship and training provided; no prior industry experience is required.

This position emphasizes model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), hands‑on experience with design tools, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session.
• Experience in systems engineering to include capturing customer requirements, operations concept development, or deriving and tracing system and sub‑system requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform in a cross-functional agile team.
• Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes.
• Creation, decomposition, and tracing requirements for communications systems on military platforms, both air and ground applications.
• Work with a model-based systems engineering application to create logical and physical design diagrams.
• Perform integration and testing for these communications solutions.
• Support future bids and proposals providing new business opportunities.
