Job summary

Whippany Actuation Systems LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer to define proper architecture for Military and Aerospace electromechanical systems, using system modeling/simulation methods to determine electrical and mechanical features.

You will lead design decisions and coordinate with cross-functional teams for manufacturability, reliability, and cost targets, with occasional travel for customer visits and industry meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3 years’ engineering experience in aerospace, defense or equivalent high technology manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
• Authorization to work in the US.
• Role restricted to U.S. persons due to export-controlled technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture design decisions for control system approaches and performance allocation.
• Lead internal system design decisions based on customer requirements and coordinate electrical system designs for production and retrofit.
• Write technical documentation and proposals in response to customer inquiries.
• Participate in a cross-functional team to support electrical engineering designs for manufacturability, reliability and cost targets.
• Travel occasionally, domestic or international, for customer visits and industry meetings.
