Job summary

Simmonds Precision Products in Vermont’s Panton facility is seeking a Paint Technician to prepare aerospace components for painting, mix and apply coatings, and inspect results to meet strict specifications. You will operate spray-painting equipment, read work orders and blueprints, document production activity, and maintain safe, compliant processes under FAA and NADCAP requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow technical work instructions.
• Ability to use measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Must be able to wear PPE and respirators as required.
• Eligible to work in a regulated aerospace environment.
• Ability to comply with FAA, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare aerospace components and assemblies for painting, including cleaning, masking, sanding, and surface prep.
• Mix, apply, and cure paints, primers, and coatings per specifications.
• Operate spray-painting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect coated parts to verify quality against requirements.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and process sheets.
• Complete production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately.
• Maintain painting equipment and work areas per safety standards.
• Identify and report nonconforming materials or processes.
• Support continuous improvement and participate in audits as required.
• Work in compliance with FAA regulations and NADCAP special process requirements.
