Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Structure Technician / Mechanical Assembler for its Long Beach, CA operations. You will drill precision holes, assemble flight hardware, and perform high-accuracy mechanical assembly on aerospace structures.

You will use specialized tooling, adhesives, and precision measuring tools to maintain tight tolerances and quality. The role emphasizes 5S, safety, and efficient shop-floor practices.

Qualifications

• Experience drilling precision holes in aerospace components.
• Proficient with torque wrenches and fastening systems.
• Familiarity with 5S in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Drill precision holes in aerospace components using appropriate tooling.
• Set up jigs and fixtures to ensure alignment.
• Assemble hardware with structural adhesives and torque fasteners.
• Install fasteners and verify torque values per specifications.
• Install threaded inserts such as helicoils.
• Inspect using micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges for tolerances.
• Perform blending and deburring; apply protective coatings like alodine.
• Follow aerospace bonding procedures and use sealants appropriately.
• Work with aluminum and other aerospace materials.
• Operate forklifts when qualified; maintain clean, safe work areas.
