Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Waco, TX, is seeking a Specialist, Structural Engineering to perform structural analysis for aircraft modifications, including load path development and design support. You will analyze primary and secondary structures to predict failures and instabilities, and document results.

The role requires FE A, MSC NASTRAN expertise, travel ability, and the capacity to obtain a security clearance. This position supports a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• BSME, BSAE, BSCE and minimum 4 years of aircraft structural analysis, design and test.
• MSME, MSAE and minimum 2 years of aircraft structural analysis, design and test.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related structural analysis, design and test experience.

Responsibilities

• Generate free body diagrams.
• Determine reaction forces, calculate internal loads, and develop shear and moment diagrams.
• Predict internal stresses and structural instabilities in aircraft structure.
• Automation of repetitive analytical tasks.
• Document and report analysis results.
• Clear and effective communication, working well in a team environment.
