Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of structural finite element analysis and traditional hand calculations.
• Understanding of fundamental structural concepts (stress/strain, buckling, fatigue, dynamics).
• Experience with aerospace structures and modal analysis beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products meet structural requirements defined by external customer, internal disciplines, and industry standards.
• Conduct analytical predictions for stress, strain, fatigue, fracture mechanics, thermal expansion, dynamic response, bolt failure and loads.
• Perform structural analysis using hand calculations, FEMAP, NASTRAN, and MATLAB/AFGROW/VA-One.
• Participate in or conduct tests including modal survey, random vibration, sine burst, and damping measurements, correlating results with model predictions.
• Exposure to aerospace products including mirror assemblies, electro-optical sensors, telescopes, sensor windows, precision mechanisms, and payloads.
• Support all phases of design and development from IRAD to customer support and verification.
• Capable of working autonomously with mentoring as needed; interact with internal engineering and program groups; manage cost and schedule on activities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
