Job summary

Parsons is seeking an Aerospace Spacecraft Operations Controller to join our Federal Solutions team in Las Cruces, NM. You will monitor real-time satellite operations, configure ground systems, and support mission readiness while following strict procedures and safety rules.

The role requires TS/SCI eligibility, U.S. citizenship, and a on-site work arrangement at White Sands Complex. Expect rotating shifts, overtime, and occasional 24/7 support as missions demand.

• 2+ years direct satellite operations experience or equivalent military operations experience.

• Ability to follow technical procedures, checklists, and contingency plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform real-time satellite payload contacts as a console operator; configure, test, and control ground equipment during pre-pass, pass, and post-pass activities.
• Support system readiness and mission planning, execution, and evaluation throughout payload on-orbit operations and retirement.
• Perform task scheduling, data trending, performance analysis, real-time operations tracking, and anomaly resolution; assist in developing SOPs and test plans.
• Resolve real-time operational conflicts to optimize data acquisition for multiple customers.
• Implement anomaly response plans during critical events; prepare anomaly reports.
• Continuously evaluate spacecraft, payload, and ground-system status for safety compliance.
• Provide 24/7 mission support and rotate shifts as scheduled.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Aerospace Spacecraft Operations Controller to join our team! In this role you will get to Follow approved technical procedures and operational checklists to maintain mission safety and system readiness

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform real-time satellite payload contacts as a console operator; configure, test, and control command and control ground equipment during pre-pass, pass, and post-pass activities.
• Support system readiness and mission planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation throughout payload on-orbit operations and end-of-life retirement and disposal.
• Perform task scheduling, data trending, performance analysis, real-time operations tracking, and LCRD payload anomaly resolution.· Assist in developing, reviewing, and maintaining standard operating procedures, on-console handbooks, support plans, Operations Directives, and test plans.
• Resolve real-time operational conflicts to optimize acquisition, tracking, commanding, control, and telemetry data acquisition for multiple operational customers.·
• Implement anomaly response plans during critical events; participate in tiger teams, propose and evaluate recovery actions, implement approved solutions, and prepare anomaly reports.
• Continuously evaluate spacecraft, payload, and ground-system status for compliance with established mission and safety requirements.
• Provide occasional 24/7 mission support and work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime as scheduled.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
• U.S. citizenship, with proof of citizenship, and the ability to maintain access to the government worksite.·
• Bachelor's or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of direct satellite operations experience or equivalent military operations experience in command and control, intelligence, or operations management.
• Ability to work on-site at the White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, New Mexico; remote work is not available.·
• Ability to support occasional 24/7 operations and work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime on a rotational basis.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to strictly follow technical procedures, operational checklists, and emergency contingency plans.
• Ability to work as an effective, dependable team member in mission-critical environment's.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information and status clearly under time-sensitive conditions.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• 5+ years of dedicated experience in space/satellite operations and/or complex military operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience operating satellite ground systems, telemetry architectures, or satellite tracking networks.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret security clearance is required to apply, however, the selected candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance prior to the start date.
