CesiumAstro is seeking an Associate Manager of Software Engineering to lead a team delivering aerospace-grade software on schedule. You will mentor engineers, collaborate across systems, hardware, quality, and product leadership to ensure requirements, quality, and ship date goals are met.

The role balances people leadership with technical oversight in a fast-paced environment that values continuous improvement and adaptive methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• 4–7 years of software engineering experience with at least 1 year in leadership roles (lead, project lead, or people manager).
• Experience leading software development teams in regulated industries such as aerospace/defense.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, IV&V, configuration management, and secure software practices.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD, and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers with regular feedback and performance management.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high‑performing culture emphasizing innovation and learning.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning, and employee development.
