Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Orange, CA is seeking a General Helper to assist shop personnel with a variety of support tasks under direct supervision. You will help load/unload materials, move parts, and support operators in numerous shop processes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to read instructions and traveler/work orders. Base compensation is USD 19.00–20.00 per hour with full benefits and opportunities for growth. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple directions, traveler or work instructions, MSD Sheets, part numbers.
• Strong communication skills for one-on-one interactions.
• Ability to follow simple, step-by-step instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in standardized situations with few variables.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and good decision making.
• Understands directions provided by lead/supervisor/manager.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators in conducting shop processes.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products.
• Transport aircraft/aerospace parts to designated work areas.
• Support shop processes such as racking, washing, masking, drilling, and cleaning hardware.
• Provide general support to shop personnel.
• Operate hand tools and handling equipment as directed.
• Read traveler or work instructions for operations.
• Move materials and supplies for department personnel.
• Assist with housekeeping and cleanup operations.
• Assist in machine set-up by loading stock and securing on machine table.
• Perform light mechanical assembly.
• Handle hazardous waste per procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
