Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Orange, California seeks a General Helper to support shop operations under direct supervision. You will assist operators, load and unload materials, and transport parts to processing areas to keep workflows smooth.

Responsibilities include following work instructions, performing light mechanical tasks, maintaining a clean workspace, and handling tools safely. This role may require Forklift certification and offers opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow simple directions and instructions.
• Ability to lift/move materials and work with basic shop tools.
• Forklift certification may be required for some openings.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators in shop processes.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto/from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks.
• Transport aircraft/aerospace parts to designated work areas for processing.
• Assist with racking, washing, masking, drilling, and other shop tasks.
• Provide general support to shop personnel as needed.
• Operate hand tools and basic handling equipment as directed.
• Read traveler or work instructions to support operations.
• Move materials and supplies for department personnel.
• Assist with housekeeping and cleaning operations.
• Support proper handling of hazardous waste in the work area.
