Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. (Spirit Defense), a Boeing subsidiary, seeks technicians to build composite structure details using carbon and other materials. You will follow drawings, process specs and quality controls to ensure timely delivery of high-quality parts.

Role requires ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship) and willingness to work 2nd shift; prior composite experience and hand-tool proficiency are preferred for complex assemblies.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work any shift; majority of new hires on 2nd shift.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Preference for experience with composite materials and layup processes.
• Knowledge of graphite, Kevlar, fiberglass and epoxy-resin composites.

Responsibilities

• Build composite structure details and assemblies using carbon and other composites.
• Follow drawings, process specs, quality controls and procedures to deliver quality products on time.
• Perform multi-tasking and operate multiple machines as applicable.
• Work on platforms up to ten feet above ground and in confined spaces.
• Work overhead and within a team environment.
• Proficient use of technology and measuring tools; maintain a clean work area.
