Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a Safety Engineer to oversee safety programs across engineering, integration, test, and operations at the Crane facility. You will develop and enforce MIL-STD-882 compliant practices for assembly, AI&T, and high-hazard aerospace activities, while maintaining safety documentation and supporting incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Requires system safety knowledge and MIL-STD-882.
• Experience performing hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety evaluations.
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills are required.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operations personnel.
• Familiarity with OSHA/DoD or aerospace safety requirements and ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement system safety programs per MIL-STD-882 and related standards.
• Perform hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety evaluations across projects.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols for AI&T and related activities.
• Maintain safety documentation including Hazard Tracking Logs and Safety Data Packages.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions; assist audits and reporting.
