Job summary

Voyager Technologies in San Diego, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance/ mission assurance leader for space, defense and national security hardware programs. You will own the AS9100D and ISO 9001 QMS, lead MRB activities, and ensure traceability and compliance across multiple flight programs.

On-site role reporting to General Manager. Required: Bachelor's in quality/engineering with 7+ years or Master’s with 5+ years in quality engineering or mission assurance; deep AS9100D knowledge and aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years in quality engineering or mission assurance, OR a Master’s with 5+ years, OR 11+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Deep knowledge of AS9100D and experience with aerospace quality audits.
• Experience leading MRB activities and closed-loop corrective action workflows (NCR, CAR, SCAR, 8D, 5-Why).
• Knowledge of space-grade workmanship standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, Space Addendum).
• Experience with supplier quality management, source inspection, and PCBA manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, specs, and data sheets for complex hardware.
• 3+ years leading quality/inspection teams; able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve the site's AS9100D and ISO 9001 QMS; act as MRD and maintain audits.
• Interface with external auditors, registrars, and customers including NASA and DoD.
• Lead MRB, NCR, CAR, SCAR workflows and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and enforce space-grade workmanship standards and EIDP traceability.
• Manage supplier quality program including audits, source inspection, and counterfeit-parts prevention.
• Mentor quality engineering and inspection teams; apply Lean Six Sigma for improvements.
• Ensure ITAR/CUI handling and EH&S controls for space-grade manufacturing.
