Job summary

American Contract Group is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer for aerospace-focused programs in Middlesex, NC. You will lead quality initiatives across value streams, deploy QMS requirements, drive preventive actions, and support operational excellence.

The role requires guiding quality engineers and cross-functional teams, with emphasis on APQP, PPAP, AS9100/ISO 9001, and continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing or quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing or quality engineering.
Experience in a regulated quality management system environment.
AS9100/ISO 9001 experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements and internal procedures.
Lead audits, assessments and corrective action activities.
Deploy APQP and support PPAP submissions and approvals.
Maintain control plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, and launch readiness.
Drive process capability improvements through SPC and mistake-proofing.
Lead investigations of customer complaints and containment actions.
Facilitate structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto).
Collaborate with suppliers and sourcing to improve performance.
