Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the Quality team. You will inspect purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, drawings, and processing requirements as they arrive from external providers.

You will determine inspection methods, work from released drawings, and adapt procedures as needed. You will use micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs to perform inspections, prepare reports, and initiate nonconformance actions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required, IPC-610-620 cert preferred.
• Familiar with ISO and AS Quality Management Systems.
• Experience with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauge, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and reports.
• Data entry, organizing and documentation skills essential.
• Familiar with ESD and proper material handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformance to standards and specs.
• Determine inspection methods, sequences, and procedures as needed.
• Work from released drawings, procedures, and specifications.
• Use micrometers, gauges, CMMs, and optical comparators for inspections.
• Prepare inspection reports and initiate nonconformance reports.
• Quarantine material when needed and create discrepancy reports for counterfeit parts.
• Perform First Article, incoming, and final inspections as required.
• Train level 1 and 2 quality inspectors.
