Job summary

Russ Hadick Associates partners with an aerospace manufacturer in Connecticut to hire a Quality Inspector focused on dimensional accuracy and process quality. The role ensures components meet engineering and quality requirements before progress or delivery, with strict documentation and traceability following aerospace standards.

The inspector will conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections, select appropriate measurement tools, and document results per AS9100 procedures.

Qualifications

• Must interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and dimensional specs.
• GD&T knowledge and symbols required.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Familiarity with manual and DCC CMMs.
• Ability to recognize visual defects and assess dimensional conformity.
• Experience in first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Knowledge of inspection documentation and quality records.
• Understanding of AS9100 aerospace quality requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate and work with production and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Examine parts against drawings, tolerances, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections per plans.
• Operate measuring instruments to verify dimensions and characteristics.
• Evaluate parts for defects and deviations affecting acceptance.
• Create casting impressions to assess internal features when needed.
• Record results, complete reports, and maintain documentation.
• Follow quality procedures, document control, and AS9100 requirements.
• Apply Pratt & Whitney and other customer-specific standards where applicable.
• Communicate findings and nonconformances to relevant personnel.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to clarify inspection requirements.
• Maintain organized inspection records and support related duties.
