Job summary

Columbia Manufacturing LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Layout Inspector to perform dimensional inspections on complex aerospace components and assemblies. This role is critical to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings and industry standards through comprehensive inspection techniques.

This position supports quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; metrology/inspection training preferred.
• 3+ years aerospace or precision machining full layout inspection experience.
• Proficiency with GD&T, AS9102 FAI standards, blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform full layout inspections per specifications and drawings.
• Interpret GD&T requirements to verify dimensional compliance.
• Conduct FAIs per AS9102 and in-process/final inspections.
• Operate measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators, optical comparators).
• Program, set up, and operate CMMs to perform dimensional inspections and generate reports.
• Document results using inspection reports, AS9102 docs, quality records, and systems.
• Identify nonconforming material per quality procedures and report.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
