Job summary

Columbia Manufacturing LLC is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to develop, validate, and execute Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs used to inspect precision aerospace components. This role requires extensive knowledge of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and CMM programming software in an AS9100 environment.

The candidate will create efficient inspection programs, verify product conformance, and support manufacturing with advanced metrology techniques.

Qualifications

• Five years of CMM programming experience in aerospace or precision machining.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Ability to read CAD models and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, test, and validate CMM inspection programs.
• Operate CMMs using PC-DMIS or M-COSMOS.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
• Perform FAI, in-process, and final inspections per AS9102.
• Create optimized inspection routines to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Verify dimensional conformance using CMMs and traditional equipment.
• Generate inspection reports and maintain documentation.
• Troubleshoot CMM programs and fixturing issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and customers.
• Assist with root cause analysis for dimensional nonconformances.
• Maintain CMM equipment and calibration compliance.
• Support continuous improvement in inspection methods.
• Train inspectors on CMM operation and techniques.
