Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation in Utah, Parker Aerospace division, seeks a Quality Inspector to perform complex inspection tasks on aerospace components with minimal guidance on swing shift (Mon-Thurs, 3:00 pm–1:30 am).

You will read blueprints, select gauges, document results, and support internal and external quality audits while ensuring compliance with drawings, military standards, and customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Zero to five years related inspection experience or demonstrated ability.
• Repair and Overhaul (14 CFR Part 145) experience a plus.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, customer's specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable standards or specifications.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and communication skills.
• Ability to work 2nd Shift (Mon-Thurs 3:00 pm to 1:30 am)

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate acceptance and rejection records and certifications as required by specifications.
• Determine acceptance or rejection after inspection and calibration of parts, tools, instruments, or x-ray film.
• Identify defective conditions/test failures and document calibration history.
• Perform inspection on complex parts using measuring and test equipment.
• Adapt and develop inspection set-ups to check samples, forgings, castings; check tool and jig layouts.
• Interpret specifications, charts, manuals, and data to determine acceptance.
• Layout component part characteristics onto rough/semi-machined parts to control machining cycles.
• Make gauging set-ups on surface plate using blocks, parallels, clamps, sine plates, V-blocks.
• Adapt inspection equipment for standard, non-standard, and special products.
• Assist customer/government inspectors as necessary.
