ADDMAN Group in Irvine, CA is seeking a Quality Engineer to support QC/QA functions and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO13485 requirements. You will drive root-cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement across manufacturing and systems.

This role collaborates with engineering and operations, leads supplier quality investigations and audits, and mentors staff on inspection practices, PFMEAs, DFMEA, and PPAP processes to strengthen product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least 8 years of Quality Engineering experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Expert knowledge of AS9100D and AS9102 requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with MRB, CAPA, RCA, FAIRs, customer audits and supplier quality.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience leading cross-functional root cause investigations.
  • Proficiency with SPC, MSA, process validation, and risk management techniques.
  • U.S. aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance and continual improvement of the AS9100 / ISO13485 quality management system.
  • Lead supplier quality investigations and coordinate supplier corrective actions requests (SCARS) as necessary.
  • Review and support disposition activities related to CARs, NCRs, MRBs, RMAs, FAIRs, source inspections, and validation efforts.
  • Ensure quality control procedures, standards and specifications are up to date and meet the requirements of applicable industry standards.
  • Analyzing complex manufacturing and product quality issues to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Work with Program Management on interpreting engineering specifications, regulatory requirements, and implementing customer requirements.
  • Work alongside the engineering & operation departments to create PFMEAs, DOE, PPAP, APQP, for customers and programs.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce waste, improve process capability, increase efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and implement quality control systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exercise independent judgment in evaluating data, processes, and compliance risks.
  • Review process data, KPIs, customer complaints, NCRs, & CAPAs to identify areas & processes that would benefit from yellow belt or green belt projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with department leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives, support CAPA implementation and effectiveness, promote 6S practices, and strengthen quality system compliance through process improvements and training.
  • Support the Quality leadership team in ensuring compliance with applicable standards, including AS9100D, ISO9001, ISO13485, IATF16949, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Work alongside current inspection staff to provide guidance & training on inspection practice and improvements.
  • Provide data reports/trend analysis/KPI data as needed by quality and department managers.
  • Research new technologies and methods that would improve efficiency, reduce labor, reduce scrap.
  • Work alongside the operations teams to assist in documenting processes.
  • Provide support during customer calls, visits, audits, & complaints.
  • Plan, conduct, and lead internal process audits and support customer, certification body, and regulatory audits.
  • Exercising independent judgment in evaluating data, processes, and compliance risks.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts and make recommendations that impact product quality and business operations.
