Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated, Appleton, WI, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality across current and future manufacturing efforts and to improve productivity through effective people and technology management.

The role requires ensuring contractual and regulatory quality requirements are communicated, supporting receiving, in-process and final quality, and collaborating with multiple departments to establish and maintain quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes with work measurement and work standards.
• Proficient in technical writing with strong documentation and attention to detail.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Analytical skills to plan, resolve problems and establish priorities.
• Intermediate computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project, and MRP/ERP.
• Ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.
• Negotiation and conflict management skills with troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all contractual and regulatory quality requirements are defined and communicated on assigned customers and programs.
• Support all departments to ensure control of receiving, in-process and final quality of product.
• Recommend more efficient and quality-oriented processes
• Provide customer interface on quality issues and problem resolution
• Collaborate with sales, purchasing, production, quoting and contract management to establish quality procedures for meeting customer requirements.
• Interface with suppliers to correct problems dealing with purchased materials.
• Provide support to manufacturing including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions to resolve problems in product manufactured.
• Assist in defining and monitoring the quality management system and in developing an organizational culture that stresses quality processes.
• Assist in monitoring personnel and processes to ensure compliance with company guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Update area supervision regarding concerns.
• Maintain necessary records.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
• Performs other assignments as required.
