Job summary

Flightwave in Torrance, CA is seeking a Quality Engineer to support development, production, and delivery of the Flightwave unmanned aerial systems, ensuring products meet quality and regulatory requirements. The role collaborates with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to monitor quality, investigate nonconformances, and drive continuous improvement through corrective actions.

A bachelor’s in engineering and AS9100 knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

Support production by ensuring assemblies meet drawings and workmanship standards.
Develop inspection plans, work instructions, and quality docs.
Monitor quality metrics and identify process improvements.
Investigate nonconforming material through NCRs.
Support MRB activities and rework verification.
Participate in root cause investigations (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D).
Assist internal audits and process compliance.
Collaborate with Production and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve issues.
Contribute to process controls for consistent product quality.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
