Job summary

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company focused on aftermarket turbine components for aerospace engines, energy and defense. The Quality Engineer will evaluate quality issues, perform analysis, and drive corrective actions to ensure compliant manufacturing and supplier performance.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, leading 8D problem solving, and maintaining quality systems. Eligible candidates will have a degree in engineering and 3+ years in quality engineering,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or related field) preferred.
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience as a quality engineer.
  • Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical tools.
  • Certification experience (ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110; FAA Parts 145/21 etc.).
  • Knowledge of QDAS system; proficient in Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and OEM Engine Manuals navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications and confer with engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Prepare corrective action responses, 8D problem solving for permanent corrective actions, and lead problem solving activities.
  • Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives

The Quality Engineer performs all aspects required for proper evaluation and resolution of quality related matters and technical issues that may arise during manufacturing and maintenance of turbine engine components, and to support activities related to quality system requirements compliance. Develop, track, and provide statistical analysis, reports and metrics for quality related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or other related field) is preferred
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience as a quality engineer
  • Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical analysis tools
  • Certification process experience (i.e. ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110) FAA Part 145, FAA Part 21, CAAC, CAA, Military
  • Knowledge of QDAS system. Proficient in Excel, Minitab, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Power Bi
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Familiar with navigation of OEM Engine Manuals

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
