Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Quality Engineer in Newnan, GA to interpret drawings and specs, lead corrective actions, and ensure strict quality standards across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s in engineering and 3+ years as a quality engineer, with Six Sigma/8D experience and proficiency in GD&T, QDAS, and MS tools. US work authorization required; competitive total rewards apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or related) preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a quality engineer.
  • Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience with statistical tools.
  • Knowledge of QDAS, GD&T, and OEM engine manuals.
  • Proficient in Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and specifications; ensure quality standards with engineering staff.
  • Lead corrective action responses and 8D problem solving for permanent actions.
  • Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Provide technical support to internal/external customers and suppliers.
  • Develop QA procedures, policies, and standards; support cost-out and yield goals.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications and confer with engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Prepare corrective action responses, 8D problem solving for permanent corrective actions, and lead problem solving activities.
  • Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or other related field) is preferred
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience as a quality engineer
  • Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical analysis tools
  • Certification process experience (i.e. ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110) FAA Part 145, FAA Part 21, CAAC, CAA, Military
  • Knowledge of QDAS system. Proficient in Excel, Minitab, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Power Bi
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Familiar with navigation of OEM Engine Manuals
Work Hours

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non‑exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
