Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine LLC in Newnan, Georgia is seeking a Quality Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience in aerospace or mechanical quality assurance. You will interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications, confer with engineering staff to determine quality standards, and lead corrective action and 8D problem solving efforts.

This role requires knowledge of GD&T, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and QA documentation; proficiency with QDAS, Minitab, Excel, Power BI,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience as a quality engineer.
  • Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience with statistical tools.
  • Certification/quality systems knowledge (ISO 9001, AS9100) preferred.
  • Knowledge of QDAS, Excel, Minitab, Power BI; GD&T familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications; confer with engineering staff to set quality standards.
  • Lead corrective action responses and 8D problem solving.
  • Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure timely release of configuration management documents; deliver strong customer service.
  • Provide technical support to customers and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement QA procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Support cost-out, scrap/rework reduction, and yield improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Interpretengineering drawings and customer specifications and conferwith engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Prepare corrective action responses, 8D problem solving for permanent corrective actions, and lead problem solving activities.
  • Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or other related field) is preferred
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience as a quality engineer
  • Six Sigma, 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical analysis tools
  • Certification process experience (i.e. ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110) FAA Part 145, FAA Part 21, CAAC, CAA, Military
  • Knowledge of QDAS system. Proficient in Excel, Minitab, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Power Bi
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Familiar with navigation of OEM Engine Manuals
Work Hours and Overtime

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Compensation

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
